Types of Non-Coffee Holiday Drinks at Starbucks
The official return of the holiday season at Starbucks always brings back a collection of flavorful syrups and sauces for making lattes, mochas and frappuccinos.
To get a sans coffee version of these drinks all you have to do is order a steamer, hot chocolate or crème frappuccino.
And for 2023 Starbucks has added a holiday chai drink!
Steamers
Also called syrup crèmes, this type of Starbucks drink is simply a latte without espresso.
In other words, a steamer is flavored steamed milk that’s topped with whipped cream.
Steamers at Starbucks can have any flavor syrup added in, even if the drink isn’t listed on the menu.
Hot Chocolates
Starbucks hot chocolates are the equivalent of a mocha minus the coffee.
A hot chocolate is simply chocolate sauce combined with steamed milk.
Of course, all flavored hot chocolates, including white chocolate and toasted white chocolate, come with a luscious swirl of whipped cream and other festive toppings.

Crème Frappuccinos
Crème-based frappuccinos at Starbucks do not contain coffee frappuccino roast.
This means, every crème frappuccino is coffee-free.
However, not every single crème frappuccino is caffeine-free.
For instance, Chai Crème Frappuccino and Matcha Crème Frappuccino both contain tea and therefore, caffeine.
