Starbucks Tea Bags
Regular Starbucks tea drinkers know that Starbucks tea bags are actually Teavana tea bags.
Currently, Starbucks has seven blends of tea bags available to brew into a tasty cup of hot tea.
In the past, Starbucks had even more Teavana tea bags available. Unfortunately, the Wellness Teas (Rev Up, Comfort and Defense) were recently discontinued.
However, don’t be surprised if you still see Rev Up at your local Starbucks. This Wellness tea was the last one to go.
That being said, Starbucks current line-up of tea bags includes three black teas, two green teas and two herbal teas.
Additionally, you should know, Starbucks tea bags are actually pyramid bags filled with loose tea. These larger pieces of tea have room to expand as they steep, making a nice quality cup of tea.
Now, let’s take a look at each tea bag.
Starbucks Black Tea Bags
Black tea drinkers will be happy to know that Starbucks offers three blends of black tea bags. All three are caffeinated.
Teavana Organic Chai
Organic Chai: Organic black tea infused with warming spice notes of cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger.
Ingredients: Black Tea, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Star Anise, Cloves, Cardamom Essence.
Notes: Hot brewed Organic Chai is one of my favorite tea bags at Starbucks. I have three favorites, to be exact.
Personally, I find that a hot cup of brewed chai allows all the delicious, warm spicy notes to take center stage. For me, a splash of milk makes it the perfect cup of chai.
Just so you know, all the other chai drinks at Starbucks are made with sweetened chai black tea concentrate. This means, for instance, that a hot chai latte has plenty of calories and carbs.
Teavana Royal English Breakfast
Royal English Breakfast: Full-bodied black tea with rich, malty undertones.
Ingredients: A blend of black teas.
Notes: If you’re looking for a cup of hot black tea at Starbucks with no other flavors added, then Royal English Breakfast is the tea bag you want to select.
Royal English Breakfast is simply a blend of black teas, nothing more.
In addition to getting a hot brewed breakfast tea, you can also get a Royal English Breakfast tea latte (hot or iced).

Teavana Earl Grey
Earl Grey: Black tea blend with bergamot and soft lavender.
Ingredients: Black Tea, Bergamot Essence, Lavender Flowers.
Notes: Remember how I said I have three favorite teas at Starbucks? Well, Earl Grey is my absolute favorite.
I get a hot cup of Earl Grey with one Splenda and a splash of milk so often, that I must be their number one earl grey tea customer.
In addition to hot brewed earl grey, this blend is also available as a London Fog tea latte.
Starbucks Green Tea Bags
Starbucks has two green tea options and both contain caffeine.
Teavana Jade Citrus Mint
Jade Citrus Mint: Flavored green tea blend with lemon verbena, lemongrass and a hint of spearmint.
Ingredients: Green Tea, Spearmint Leaves, Lemon Verbena, Lemongrass, Natural Flavor.
Notes: Jade Citrus Mint is a vibrant blend of green tea, mint and lemon.
You may know this blend as one of the two types of tea bags that go into a steamy hot Honey Citrus Mint tea, better known as Medicine Ball Tea.
What I love about Teavana’s Jade Citrus Mint is that it’s just as good over ice.
As a matter of fact, did you know all Starbucks iced green tea drinks are made from cold brewed Jade Citrus Mint?
Mixed with lemonade or peach juice, Starbucks iced green tea absolutely hits the spot on a hot summer day.

Teavana Emperor’s Cloud & Mist
Emperor’s Cloud & Mist: Green tea with light, toasty notes.
Ingredients: Green Tea.
Notes: If you want a simple cup of hot green tea, then opt for the Emperor’s Cloud & Mist tea bag.
This particular Starbucks tea bag is purely green tea; that’s it. It is not blended with any herbs, flowers or spices.
Starbucks Herbal Teas Bags
Two herbal infusion tea bags are part of the Starbucks tea line-up. Neither contains caffeine.
Teavana Peach Tranquility
Peach Tranquility: Lucious peach with light citrus and floral undertones.
Ingredients: Apple, Rose Hips, Candied Pineapple, Chamomile Flowers, Peach, Licorice Root, Lemon Verbena, Chamomile Pollen, Natural Flavor.
Notes: If you’re keeping track of my three favorite tea bags at Starbucks, Peach Tranquility makes the list.
What can I say? I absolutely love the sweetness and fruitiness of this Teavana blend.
Not to mention, since Peach Tranquility is an herbal tea, it is one of Starbucks Caffeine-free Teas.
In fact, if you want to get technical, like all herbal tisanes, Peach Tranquility tea doesn’t even contain tea.
The thing about this herbal tea is that it is just as delicious hot, iced or combined with Jade Citrus Mint to make the ever-popular Starbucks Medicine Ball Drink.
Teavana Mint Majesty
Mint Majesty: Herbal Infusion of spearmint, peppermint and a touch of lemon verbena.
Ingredients: Spearmint Leaves, Peppermint Leaves, Lemon Verbena.
Notes: Teavana Mint Majesty is one Starbucks herbal teas.
Like Peach Tranquility, Mint Majesty does not contain caffeine or actual tea leaves.
For those that like minty tea with a hint of lemon, this Starbucks tea bag is the perfect selection.
Teavana Tea Bags at Starbucks
By now, you might be wondering, “Are Starbucks tea bags and Teavana tea bags the same thing?”
And the answer is, “yes and no.”
Obviously, Starbucks stores make their tea drinks with Teavana tea bags. However, Starbucks actually owns Teavana, as well.
As a matter of fact, Starbucks acquired Teavana in 2012.
Sadly, around 2017 Starbucks decided to close all the Teavana storefronts (remember those?).
However, Starbucks expanded Teavana packaged tea (tea bags and ready-to-drink teas) into grocery stores and stores like Target.
Now, you can enjoy the great taste of Teavana tea at Starbucks or at home.
